When the exhibition Nur: Light in Art and Science from the Islamic World was on view at the DMA, the Center for Creative Connections exhibited a painting of the tuba tree with its 99 words for God. C3 asked visitors for one word for "light," written in pencil on a golden leaf of paper. We received 4,394 contributions. From that found poetry of found poets, C3 Writer-in-Residence Kendra Greene composed a portrait of the community. From Jesus to Justin Bieber, excerpts from this collaboration were presented in a spoken word performance as a DMA Late Night event.
